We are looking for a Tech Support specialist to join our team of kick-butt IT Professionals. This is not a Remote office job, applicants would need to work at our Davison, MI office on a daily basis.  

 

Job Summary

Tech Support will work with the Tech & Supports teams to handle support tickets that come in that require technical work. This can range from installation issues, network questions, and hardware troubleshooting; in a volume that changes day to day. Support depends on our Clients, and we always put them first. 

When Tech Support is not working on a hot client issue, they return to their project lists; which is why we are looking for self-motivated and patient individuals.

Qualifications:

  • Possess proficient problem solving & issue identification skills.
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Windows Server environments and configuration.
  • Capable of troubleshooting technical issues with limited documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.  
  • Capable and proficient in working with Customers directly by Phone, Web, or in person if needed. 
  • Intake, Diagnose, & solve basic and complex customer questions or issues with Universal’s supported solutions.
  • Resolve issues that may not have standard documentation, while documenting the issue & resolution in a clear manner.
  • Capable of thinking on your feet, working well a team atmosphere, self-motivated, and a dedication and commitment to the job at hand.
  • Looking for someone with a great attitude that is willing to learn and progressively strive to advance both professional and personally
  • Working experience in one or more of the following:

    - Excellent understanding of how to troubleshoot and manage Applications installs and configurations. 

    - Basic MS Server OS Configuration and Management
    - Basic IIS Web Services (installing, configuring, and troubleshooting.
    - Entry Level Networking Hardware and Configuration
    - Technical Documentation\Writing Aptitude 
    - Active Directory Management

  • Must be a quick learner, self-directed, motivated, and have strong dedication and commitment level to the tasks at hand

Preferred but not required Qualifications

  • Microsoft SQL Server Database structures
  • Microsoft PowerShell 
  • Installing firewalls, data encryption and other security measures
  • Training staff on network and information security procedures
