Ready for 5010

Are you one of those who get nervous when you hear the numbers 5010? The change from ICD-9 to ICD-10 in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) is slated for the end of the current year.

Universal Software is ready for the change and is in the testing phase of the process. If you are a current Universal HDMS client you have nothing to worry about. If your current software isn't ready for 5010, contact one of our business development representatives at (810) 653-5000 for more information.

HDMS Pharmacy Makes its Debut to Clients for Home Infusion Billing

If you are a Home Medical Equipment Supplier who also needs the ability to accept and bill for Home Infusion medications, look no farther. Universal Software has rolled out its HDMS Pharmacy module to a handful of clients for evaluation and testing, and plans to offer it to all clients this summer.

HDMS Pharmacy is fully integrated and works right within the current Customer Service Representative workflow. As your CSR Pharmacy Technicians enter new patients they can place the order for Home Infusion Medication and DME equipment and supplies all within the same entry screens. Claim adjudication is preformed in real time for qualifying Home IV drugs. The system prints all necessary product labels, and corresponding drug interaction information.

If you are interested in knowing more, give us a call today and ask for Tim or Dave.

Universal Software HDMS integrates with Ability Network (formerly VisionShare)

As most DME users are aware of, Medicare CEDI will be discontinuing the dial-up modem service for claim submissions. Providers will need to submit their electronic claims through one of the six network service vendors, or an affiliated clearinghouse. Universal has selected Ability Network (formerly VisionShare) as an integration partner for transmission of Medicare claims, remittances, eligibility, and status inquiries (same and similar).

Providers who purchase the annual Ability license certificate can transmit and receive claim data directly through the HDMS software just as they did previously using the dial-up modem process.

Some providers, who are using ZirMed as their commercial claims clearinghouse, are simply switching to their services for claims, remits, and eligibility. ZirMed is a USSI Preferred Partner, and offers some additional tools to assist the billing department of your company.
