After several major changes published by Blue Cross of Michigan in 2017 Q4, we see biggest news come in the way of a Request for Proposal they have published seeking DME/P&O vendors who could “achieve benefit cost savings for 2.4 million Commercial PPO members in Michigan”. They go on to indicate that they are looking for cost-effective, high quality equipment and supplies and plan to evaluate medical supply bidders and third party administrators to manage these supplies and services.
BCBSM indicates they will accept bids for Diabetic Supply only, DME Only, or both Diabetic & DME.
Requests due by March 2nd, completed applications due by May 3rd.
I’m sure I speak for all Michigan Providers when I say that we will also be anxiously awaiting the results…. will BCBSM Commercial PPO business be swallowed up into a sole source contract or become a tangled web like Competitive Bid contracting?
